Court Watson

Court Watson is a New York City based Set and Costume Designer. His design credits include Jekyll & Hyde and West Side Story (Magdeburg, Germany), Frau Luna (Salzburger Landestheater), Rockville and AIDA das Musical (Amstetten, Austria), Little Shop of Horrors, and A Christmas Carol (Ford's Theatre), Clyde & Seamore's Christmas Countdown (SeaWorld, Orlando), Lend Me a Tenor, The Foreigner, Little Shop of Horrors, and Other People's Money (Engeman Theatre), Jungle Books (CityDance Ensemble), Meet John Doe (Goodspeed), Dear Edwina (Daryl Roth Theatre 2 - Off-Broadway), The Stagedoor Canteen (National World War II Museum), Olympia Dukakis' Another Side of the Island (Alpine Theatre Project), Blade to the Heat, Charm of Preparedness, and Getting Out (Baruch College), Character (Prospect Theatre), The Children (New York Musical Theatre Festival), Frankenstein (Wings Theatre), Snake Lady, Rain Falls, and Landscape of the Body (New York University), Cherry Orchard (Columbia University) Betty's Summer Vacation (Virginia Commonwealth University), 1940's Radio Hour, Fully Committed (Barksdale Theatre), A Little Night Music, and Tartuffe (Opera VCU).


Court has been an Assistant Designer on several Broadway shows, including Guys & Dolls, Grease!, Lestat, Little Women, The Coast of Utopia, Cry*Baby, South Pacific, Mauritius and High Fidelity working with Paul Tazewell, Derek McLane, Catherine Zuber and Anna Louizos.


In the fall of 2007, he was David Gallo's Associate on Ich war noch niemals in New York at the Operettenhaus in Hamburg, Germany for Stage Entertainment.


Court has been a Guest Designer on ABC's All My Children and One Life to Live. He spent four seasons at The Lost Colony in Manteo, North Carolina. Court is a two-time First Place winner at the Southeastern Theatre Conference and won the Barbizon Prize at the Kennedy Center/ American College Theatre Festival. His watercolors are in private collections throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.


Court holds an MFA from New York University and a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.
